Roll With It: A Jelly Roll Adventure

Have you bought jelly rolls in the past and then they gather dust because you can't figure out what to make? It's time to put that pretty fabric to use and make a beautiful quilt that uses the entire jelly roll! We will be making the quilt using the Trellis pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew. This quilt is not as complicated as it looks; using simple piecing methods and nesting seams throughout make this sew up fast and easy. This pattern will need to be ordered in the store at least weeks ahead of time to ensure delivery by the class date.

Supplies:The size we are making is the Throw, which is the size pictured on the front of the pattern, for this you will need:

1 Jelly Roll (42 pre -cut 2.5" strips) - please make sure it is a standard Jelly Roll and not smaller pack that has less strips as we need all 42 of them

2.75 Yards of Background Fabric

3.75 Yards of Backing Fabric

0.5 Yard of Binding Fabric

A sewing machine in good working order, rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler 6.5" x 24.5"

40 or 50 weight thread for piecing (cotton or polyester, whichever you prefer)

Optional

Diagonal Seam Tape, this is recommended as it makes construction faster. This allows you to sew on the diagonal without having to draw a line on the fabric. Should you not use the tape, you will need a marking tool to mark the diagonal on some of the pieces.
